Meet Jourdon – Therapy Assistant
Jourdon is one of the warm, welcoming faces you’ll see at The Nurtured Village, bringing a fresh perspective, a whole lot of heart, and a strong foundation in psychology to our team. After completing a 3-year Psychology degree at Flinders University, Jourdon is set to begin her Honours in 2025 – with big dreams of continuing into a Master of Clinical Psychology and making a difference in rural and regional communities.
With a deep passion for mental health, especially within farming families and remote communities, Jourdon is committed to making support more accessible, more human, and more connected. Whether she’s helping facilitate group programs or simply offering a safe, calm space for connection – she’s someone who listens with intention and always meets people where they’re at.
What Jourdon brings to The Nurtured Village:
Jourdon has a natural gift for building relationships and creating a sense of safety and belonging – whether it’s with our young clients or their grown-ups. Her psychology background brings insight and thoughtfulness to her work, and she’s always tuned in to how we can better support our families and each other.
She also coordinates our returning-client social groups – providing ongoing connection and community, which we know can be incredibly powerful in the healing process.
A little more about Jourdon:
Fun Fact: Jourdon’s got a serious case of the travel bug – and when she’s not studying or supporting clients, she’s dreaming of her next adventure.
Jourdon in a sentence: An academic weapon who loves food and travel and fits sport in wherever she can!
Fave shows: Equal parts forensic nerd and reality TV addict – Mind Hunter and Bones are up there with Love Island on her watch list.Snack of choice:
Cappuccino with one sugar and a bag of chocolate-covered pretzels.Dream superpower: Time travel – mostly so she can skip the boring bits like long car rides and airport lines!
At The Nurtured Village, Jourdon is helping build something truly special – a place where connection, community, and compassion come first.
